MPLADS Scheme

Abdulla prides himself on optimum utilization of the MP fund for development works in his constituency. Since 1999, he has disbursed over 18 crore rupees for purposeful projects like school building, rural roads, hospitals and primary health centres, drinking water supply, computerization of schools, etc. Allotment and disbursement of these funds is subject to district-level and block-level monitoring. The support of the local communities has made it possible to ensure speedy implementation of all projects sponsored by the MP.
Some of the important projects funded under the MPLADS in Kannur are:

1. A railway gate between Irinavu and Kalliasseri panchayats
2. 52 government schools were supplied with 5 computers each, incurring a total expenditure of Rs. 54 lakhs.

Sports and Games

Abdullakuttty is a member of the Indian Parliamentarians cricket team. In August 2004 he had the privilege of playing against the House of Lords team in the UK along with Sachin Pilot, Akhilesh Yadav and others. Although the Indian team lost the match, they gave a good account of themselves on the home ground of international cricket Abdullakutty is the only member from Kerala on the Indian Parliamentarians cricket team, which plays two or three matches every year, mostly against State legislature teams and prominent business groups. He is a consummate all-rounder who enjoys every moment spent on the field.
